About Lea Tran
Sometimes one has to take a leap of faith. In the winter of 2005, Lea Tran decided to do just that and act on her dream of becoming a top quality window fashion designer and fabricator. She quit her job of seventeen years as a Medicinal Chemist in the pharmaceutical industry and started her own company. And thanks to the encouragement of family and friends, once she took the leap in 2005 Lea has never looked back. Her success story was featured in the Drapery & Design Professional Magazine in 2009.
Distinctive Designs has grown largely by word of mouth and Lea enjoys the growing friendships and partnerships she has built with new and repeat clients. To help ensure that her clients always get the results they want, Lea uses leading edge computerized software to produce virtual window treatments before any commitment is made. This service has saved precious time and money for her clients, and assures happy results.
Lea Tran is a Certified Window Treatment Consultant from WCAA (Window Covering Association of America). She currently serves as the Vice President in Southeast PA WCAA Chapter. Lea is a graduate of the Advanced Window Covering Program at CHF (Custom Home Furnishing) Academy, a drapery professional school in North Carolina. To remain ahead of industry innovations and trends, Lea attends the International Window Covering Expo regularly. She continues to refine her exacting capabilities by taking advanced design courses and participating in professional conferences and meetings on an ongoing basis.
