The Distinctive Difference, What Sets Us Apart
“Life Takes You Places, but Love Leads You Home”
Sometimes, you just need to take a leap of faith. I did just that back in 2005 when I quit my seventeen-year career as a pharmaceutical chemist to pursue my dream of becoming a top window fashion designer and fabricator.
With the loving support of my friends and family, I swapped in my lab coat for a sewing machine, started up Distinctive Designs, and never looked back. I am proud to say that Distinctive Designs, known for our personable customer service and our beautiful, high-quality workmanship, has grown over the years to become one of the top custom window fashion providers in the tri-state area.
The success of my business, however, is nothing compared to the friendships I’ve built with my new and repeat clients, and the pleasure of creating more and more Client Success Stories. Over the years we’ve had some exciting benchmarks, like in 2009, when our success story was featured in Drapery & Design Professionals magazine. We even had the amazing opportunity to work on a project for Extreme Makeover Home Edition!
We strive to exceed the expectations of our clients by providing all of the Products and Services required for their custom window treatment needs, including our state-of-the-art Virtual Design Services. I hope during your stay here that you have a chance to visit our Portfolio to see samples of our finished work.
Use this site as your starting point for inspiring windows. Look around, stay awhile, learn a little about custom window treatments (do you know the difference between a cornice and a valance?), and find some inspiration! You are only a few steps away from your dream windows; let us be your guide!
Distinctively Yours,
Lea Tran
