Drapery Panels
A classic design option where fabric is lined and is tailored to hang from the top of the window to the sill or all the way to the floor. Panels can hang freely down either side of the window, or gathered with tiebacks. They are decorative but can also be functionally closed for insulation, privacy, and light control.
Valance
A valance is a general term for a decorative fabric top treatment. They can be tailored in many ways and embellished with pleats, trim and heading styles to get exactly the look you want. They are oftentimes paired with drapery panels for a finished look.
Swags & Jabots
Swags & jabots are decorative top treatments. Swags generally scallop or fan across the top of the window, and jabots are the fabric tails that cascade to the sides of the window from beneath the swag. A more informal interpretation of swags & jabots are scarf swags, which are one piece long piece of fabric that casually hang around the top and sides of the window.
Cornices
Cornices are a constructed wooden top treatment that is painted, stained or upholstered. Cornices can be carved and shaped to match architectural details in your home, and upholstered cornices can be padded for an extra plush look.
Fabric Shades
This category includes roman shades, London shades and balloon shades. These shades are typically mounted from the top to cover a portion of the window pane, and can be constructed stationary or to raise or lower for privacy and light-control.
